Clinical Study On YESHENTONGBI Recipe Combined With In The Treatment Of Acute Gouty Arthritis

ObjeciveThe purpose of the research was to observe the clinical effect and the safety and the side-effect of YiShenTongBi Recipe combined with methotrexate(MTX) and sulfasalazine(SASP) in the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis(AS) patients. By establishing a matched group,these two groups were compared after they were treated with different ways. In the same time, they were also compared themselves before and after the treatment. So we could investigate if YiShenTongBi Recipe was helpful to MTX+ SASP and could reduce their side-effect in the treatment of AS. Therefore a safe and valid project of curing the AS could be explored further with TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine) combined with modern medicine. MethodsThe 60 AS patients were randomly divided into two groups. One was the treatment group, 40 AS patients,which were taken orally YiShenTongBi Recipe +MTX+SASP, the other was the matched group, 20 AS patients, which were only taken MTX+ SASP. By establishing the AS observe form, taking down the accounts and making statistcal disposal, two groups were contrasted on the index of the symptom, physical sign and laboratorial target. The clinical curative effect and adverse reaction were evaluated completely. ResultsThe total curative effect of the treatment group were 60.00%, 87.50% in the 4 weeks and 8 weeks, the matched group were 50. 00% , 70%. Their difference was unconspicuous(P>0. 05). On the main curative-effect index and laboratorial target, the difference of the two groups was evident respectively before and after the treatment (P<0. 05) . But the difference between the two groups was not obvious (P>0. 05). There was significant difference in the adverse reactionbetween the two groups (P<0. 05) .The treatment group had better safety andtolerance than the matched group.ConclusionYiShenTongBi Recipe combined with MTX and SASP could promote curative effect and reduce the side-effect of the MTX+ SASP and could reduce the side-effect in the treatment of AS patients with MTX+SASP. The treatment project of TCM combined with modern medicine was safe and useful.
