Objective Glaucoma is a eye disease of the blinds which causes glaucomatous optic nerve atrophy and visual field defect. The number of the blinds caused by glaucoma sits the second place of total blinds.Though the cause of glaucoma is not certain,a lot of study showed intracoular pressure(IOP)was still the important factor of impairment of the optic nerve. At present, filtering surgery is still a main surgery in glaucoma.Function filtering bleb is the purpose of filtering surgery. But it is easy to produce hyperplasia of fiber tissue and cicatrisation. At last,it results in cicatrisation of filtering blebs and failure of glaucoma surgery.Several reports showed antimetabolites can improve the success rate of glaucoma filtering surgery, but it leads to some new complications of filtering blebs,Even some have serious toxicity.Interferon has antifibrotic action. It has inhibitory function in wound healing.we investigate antifibrotic action of interferon. To observe the effect of early failure of filtering bleb with needling revision and interferon a-2b(IFN a-2b) subconjunctival injection after filtering surgery in glaucoma.Method 50 cases (50 eyes)with early failed filtering blebs were randomly divided into two groups(IFN a-2b group and control group),which had undergone glaucoma filtering surgery from January 2002 to May 2004.Each group consisting of 25 eyes. IFN a-2b group was used needling revision and IFN a-2b subconjunctival injection. In control group, filtering blebs were massaged. To observe IOP of before and after treatment,IOP,filtering blebs and success rate after 1and 6 months treatment. The follow-up was ranged from 6 to 12 months, the mean was 9.6±1.2 months.Result⑴Before the treatment, the average IOP was 31.00±5.57mmHg in...
