[Background & Objectives] Pathological degeneration of alveolar bone has become the major blockade that drastically limits the long-term outcomes of various prostheses. An innovative osteoblast-based biotherapy could be the only way out. Mitochondrial membrane potential is closely associated with cell function, playing significant roles in different stages of osteoblast differentiation. However, our knowledge towards the correlation between different patterns of mechanical stimuli and corresponding mitochondrial membrane potential responses are scarce.
