Objective:To test the changes on Holter in patients with cardiovascular disease undergoing noncardiac surgery while intravenous administering metoprolol in the operation. Method: Fifty-five patients, who were at one moderate or two minor risk predictors of perioperative cardiac events according to 《ACC/AHA Guideline (revised 2002) for Perioperative Cardiovascular Evaluation for Noncardiac surgery》,were classified into two groups at random:Metopolol group (Group Ⅰ,n=27),and Control group (Group Ⅱ,n=28).Two groups of patients were given intravenous anesthetics combining with inhaled anesthetics with endotracheal intubation. Group Ⅰ was infused continously metopolol after intubing, and Group Ⅱ was done as the same as Group I except infusing metopolol. All patients were settled Holter to moniter their electrocardiogram (ECG),heart rate, and blood pressure. Then, we can find myocardial ischaemias within 24 hours at the beginning of the operation. Results:1. Heart Rates In Group Ⅱ , the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative mean heart rates had no difference preoperatively ,neither intraoperatively(P>0.05), but there are significant difference between preoperative and postoperative investigation(P<0.05). In Group Ⅰ, the preoperative and intraoperative mean heart rates had significant difference (P<0.01),but there was no difference among the preoperative and postoperative values(P>0.05).There was no difference neither preoperative, intraoperative, postoperative values between the two groups(P>0. 05). 2 .Blood Pressure In Group Ⅱ,the mean systolic blood pressure had no difference preoperatively neither intraoperatively(P>0.05), but there was significant difference between preoperative and postoperative investigation(P<0. 05). The mean diastolic blood pressure of control group had no difference preoperatively neither intraoperatively or preoperatively neither postoperatively(P>0. 05). In...
