Objective: The objective of the study is to observe in nucleic acid and protein levels the expression of augmenter of liver regeneration (ALR) in the different organs of rat: liver, spleen, thymus gland and muscle and in the different times: after birth 1 day, 1 week, 3 week and 5 week. This result will provide the experimental evidence for further research in the relationship between immune tolerance and mother-neonate communication. Methods: According to different ages (birth 1 day, 1 week, 3 week and 5 week), twenty-four male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups, 6 rats in each group. Their liver, spleen, thymus gland and muscle were taken after rats of homologous group were respectively sacrificed with cervical vertebra dislocation at corresponding time point. All organs were cut to two parts, one kept in liquid nitrogen for RNA extraction, other homogenated for protein preparation. The ALR expressions of various organs were respectively examined by RT-PCR in nucleic acid level and by Western blot in protein level. All bands from RT-PCR and Western blot were captured and analyzed by Bio-Rad gel imaging system. All measurement data from RT-PCR and Western blot were expressed by mean±standard deviation( x±s),then analyzed by One-Way analysis of variance and q -test. P<0.05 expresses statistical significance, P<0.01 expresses predominant significance。All data analyzed by...
