1, Expression of somatostatin receptor subtype 2 and subtype 5in gastric carcinoma[ Objective ] :To detect the expression of somatostatin receptor(SSTR) subtypes in the specimens of gastric carcinoma and SGC-7901 gastric cancer cell line.[ Methods ] : Using immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR methods, the expression of somatostatin receptor subtype 2 (SSTR-2)or somatostatin receptor subtype 5 (SSTR-5) were detected in 30 gastric carcinomas and SGC-7901 gastric cancer cell line.[Results]: 1, IHC: Out of the 30 gastric carcinomas, SSTR-2 expression was detected in 14 cases (46.67%), and SSTR-5 was detected in 12 specimens (40.0%). 2, RT-PCR: The expression of SSTR-2 was detected in 15 out of 30 gastric carcinoma specimens (50.0%), SSTR-5 was detected in 14 cases (46.67%). The expression of SSTR-2 and SSTR-5 were detected in SGC-7901 gastric cancer cell line.[Conclusion] : Somatostatin receptor subtype 2 and subtype 5 can be detected in gastric carcinoma and SGC-7901 gastric cancer cell line by IHC and RT-PCR.2,Inhibition of octreotide to SGC-7901 gastric cancer cell line [Objective]: To study the effect of octreotide(OCT) on cell growth and apoptosis in human gastric carcinoma cell line SGC-7901.[Methods] :Human gastric carcinoma cell line SGC-7901 was treated with OCT in vitro.
