Objective: Iodine is a kind of trace elements necessary to people. And it is an important component in thyroxin and can regulate the synthesis and discharge of thyroxin, so it has greatly physiological significance. Iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) will bring a series of hazards to the body, even influence the development of mentality. For solving this public health problem, universal salt iodization (USI) is used to eliminate IDD and gains notable success. But after incidence of hypothyroid disease descends to low level, the incidence elevates again in recent years followed by USI. This has already caused a widespread attention of scholars of endocrinology and endemic world across the world. Large numbers of epidemiological research indicates that the long-term iodine intakes in insufficient or excessively can also increase the incidence of hypothyroid disease. The current remedies complementing iodine are mainly composed of inorganic iodine. Almost all the inorganic iodine is imported from foreign country and costs a lot of foreign exchange. At the same time, the inorganic iodine has some limitation to a certain extent because of the unstable nature and volatility. Somebody does not suit for the supplement of inorganic iodine. So it is very necessary to find a highly efficient, safe, stable, new iodine preparations. The organic iodine in kelps is excellent and safe and will be the good choice for the crowd who lack iodine. It is a good kind of supplement to USI and can fully make use of the current resources in our country, so it has a broad application prospect. In order to study the effect of DIT and KI on human thyroid cell, we compare the...
