Effect Of Different Alcohol Concentration On Brains Of Albino Rats After Traumatic Brain Injury

Objective:To observe the effect of different alcohol concentration on albino rats after traumatic brain injury (TBI) by the index of cerebral edema and death rate. And to provide experiment data of patients suffered from alcohol intoxication combined with TBI. Methods:200 albino rats were divided into 4 groups according to body weight, named experiment group 1, 2, 3 and control group. Each group has 50 albino rats. Rats in group 1, 2, 3 were lavaged with 100%, 50%, 25% and 0% alcohol, separately. Stroking was followed after 30 minutes according to Feeney's method.(l) At the time of 30min, lh,2h,6h,24h and 72h after TBI, 5 rats were taken suction in random from each group, and water content of brains were tested. (2)At the time of 24h after TBI, 3 rats were taken suction in random for light microscope observation.(3) Death rates were calculated by 2 periods, fewer than 24h and between 24-72h. Results:1.
