Clinical Study On Treatment Of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Post Embolization Syndrome With GanTaiHeJi

Objective To evaluate the clinical effects and the mechanism of GanTaiHeJi on Hepatocellular carcinoma post embolization syndrome by observing the change of the levels of plasmas TNF-α, IL-6 and HGF.Materials and Methods According to Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) diagnosis and staging standards revised by HCC special committee of Chinese Anti-Cancer association in 2001,48 cases suffered from HCC were selected. In the studies, the entried criteria including (l)clinical stage II or III, (2)KPS(Karnofsky performance status) ≥ 70,(3)survival time ≥ 3 months.48 patients were randomly distributed into two groups:the trial group and the controlled group.In the trial group,25 patients received GanTaiHeJi after transcatheter arterial chemo-embolization (TACE). And 23 patients in the controlled group received placebo after TACE. Two groups were all treated on to anti-infection, liver function protection and gastric acid inhibition after TACE as usual.
