Objective: To investigate the effect of the changes of ambient temperature and solar term on upper gastrointestinal bleeding(UGB) and to explore its internal rule in patients with UGB in the first hospital in Long Yan City from 2000 to 2005, through the data selections of solar term and ambient temperature at that time. Then objective evidence would be supplied for clinical prevention and treatment, and the theory in TCM of man,as a microcosm,is connected with the macrocosm would be verified.Materials and Methods: 1183 patients with UGB were selected according to the diagnostic criteria of haematemesis and hemafecia in the guidance of clinical research on new drug of Chinese materia medica bestowed by Ministry of Health in the People's Republic of China in 1993 and practical internal medicine(edition 11th). The relationship of UGB and the frequency of onset in solar term, the maximum temperature, the minimum temperature, the average temperature, the amount of precipitation were analyzed. Results: 1, It showed that the incidence was higher significantly in hibernal solar term, such as the Waking of Insects and Frost's descent, than in high temperature solar term such as Grain in Ear to the Limit of Heat (p< 0.05).indicated UGB the occurrence changes along with the solar terms...
