Objective: The proliferation of endometrium and hemodynamics with sterility were observed by transvaginal Doppler ultrasound, to research the relationship between resistance index of uterine artery and sterility. Method: The proliferation of endometrium and the hemodynamic changes of uterine artery were observed by transvaginal color Doppler ultrasound in 15 cases of primary sterility, 15 cases of secondary sterility and 15 cases of normal woman. And the correlation and difference between the thickness of endometrium and the resistance index of uterine artery were analyzed statistically. Results: The endometrium was quickly thickened and the resistance index of uterine artery was decreased simultaneously from the ovulation phase to the early luteal phase in the normal group woman. The endometrium was slowly thickened and the resistance index of the uterine artery was increased from the ovulation phase to the early luteal phase in the primary and secondary sterility groups. The resistance of uterine artery and the thickness of the endometrium were correlated strictly from the 6th day to the 20th day of the menstrual cycle. The thickness of endometrium and the resistance index of uterine artery revealed a significant difference between the normal group and the sterility groups, and revealed no difference between the primary sterility group and the secondary group. Conclusion: The thickness of endometrium was negatively correlated with the resistance index of uterine artery, so increase of the resistance index of uterin artery might be the main cause of the sterility.
