Objective To expore the law of correlation between oxidation and generation /development of diabetes , and the influence of traditional Chinese medicine,, the fenugreek is administered to STZ rats against the oxidation. The FPG, MDA, SOD, Cat, NO, NOS and the total antioxidation ability (TAOA) are determined, the morphological changes of the pencreas are observed. The results are provided as reference for clinical treatment.Methods 1. Experimental animals :Wastar rats , body weight 200-25Dg 2. Streptozotocin (STZ) solution is made up with buffer liquid (PH4. 4). The concentration is 11mg/ml. 3. Treating group : The rats are injected STZ solution in abdominal cavity (55mg/kg) after fast 8h and then pored fenugreek liquid into stomach (1g/kg. w. d) after injecting a week for 2 months. 4. preventive group: the rats are pored fenugreek liquid (lg/kg. w. d) for 15d at first, and then are injected STZ solution in abdominal cavity , after that, are pored fenugreek liquid for 2 months. 5. Normal compare groups: the rats are injected normal saline in abdominal cavity after fast 8h for 2 months. 6. Model compare group: The rats are injected STZ solution(55 mg / kg. w) in abdominal cavitity after fast 8h, and then pored normal soline in stomach for 2 months. 7. measure SOD. Cat. NO, NOS, MDA and the total antioxidation ability in serum and penceases , and the FPG in serum. 8. Observe the morphological change of the pancreas.Results 1. The FPG of model compare group rats is higher markedly than of normal compare group rats (p <0. 01). The FPG of treating and preventive rats after treatment is lower than that befor treatment. 2. The oerels of SOD. Cat. and TAOA in model compare group rats are lower than that in normal compare group rats (p <0. OK p <0.05 and p<0.05 separately). The levels of NO, NOS, MDA in model compare group rats are higher than that in normal compare group rats (p <0.01 p <0.01 and p<0.01 separately). 3. The level of SOD in treating and preventive group rats becomes higher markedly than that of model compare group (p <0. 01 separately), but the level of MDA becomes low markedly , the level of TAOA is high a little .4.
