ObjectiveThe technique of quantitative tissue velocity imaging was used to measure myocardial velocity and evaluate left ventricular diastolic function. It was certified that it was not influenced by preload and afterload. But its accuracy was restricted because it was influenced by heart's bodily movements and incident angle of Doppler. Myocardial velocity gradient(MVG) was a significance index in evaluating myocardial function because it was not influenced by heart's bodily movements and incident angle of Doppler. The major purpose of this study was to analyze the value of peak MVG in early diastole on both longitudinal and radial axis in evaluating left ventricular diastolic function in hypertension patients.Materials and MethodsTotally 30 normal subjects as the control group and 40 hypertension patients with NLVH and 30 hypertension patients with LVH underwent QTVI study. Myocardial peak velocity in early diastole(Ve) and ratio of myocardial peak motion velocity in early diastole period and myocardial peak motion velocity in late diastole period (Ve/Va) of left ventricular posterior wall were measured. MVG of left ventricular posterior wall on both longitudinal and radial axis in early diastole(MVGel1,MVGel2, MVGer) were calculated. The difference of the above parameters in the three groups were compared and the sensitivities between the indices of MVG and the indices of QTVI were...
