| Object: To explore the effects of different exercises with isocaloric consumes on metabolic factors and cardiovascular responses in order to provide individually exercise prescriptions for type 2 diabetic patients. Methods: Thirteen patients with type 2 diabetes were in for this exercise programs of isocaloric consumes with motorized treadmill and cycle ergometer respectively by gas exchange analyzers (k4b2) . The blood glucose, heart rate, blood pressure and gas exchange parameters were monitored during exercises. Results: The levers of blood glucose after exercise decreased significantly compared with pre-exercise. There were not significantly differences in the reductions of blood glucose between treadmill and ergometer with isocaloric consumes, but there were significantly differences in VE/VO2, VE/VCO2 and maximum heart rate between different exercises. Conclusions: The effects of different exercises with isocaloric consumes on metabolic factors and cardiovascular responses are homologous, suggesting that exercise form is not a crucial factor to adjust the levels of blood glucose in type 2 diabetic patients, which provide a new idea for quantity of exercise prescription by use of isocaloric consumes in type 2 diabetic patients. |
