Analysis Of Causes Of Diseases And Death From 1991 To 2000 In Wuxian City

Objective: To investigate major causes of death and characteristics of their distribution and change trend in inhabitants in Wuxian city.Methods: The data of diseases and death from 1991 to 2000 in Wuxian city were used to calculate rude mortality rate ,specific death rate ,proportional mortality rate and order of death cause .Data of national census 1990 was served as standard population to calculate standardized mortality rate. average life expectancy was estimated ,and contribution of major death to loss of life expectancy was evaluated. All statistics were conducted by software SPSS 10.0.Results: Average rude mortality rate from 1991 to 2000 was 667.22/10,0000 in Wuxian city ,with 717.72/10,0000 for male and 617.15/10,0000 for female. standardized mortality rate was 430.96/10,0000, with 482.74/10,0000 for male and 382.03/10,0000 for female. The first five death causes were malignant tumor, cerebrovascular disease, respiratory diseases, injure and poisoning during 1991 to 2000. The mortality rates of malignant tumor, cerebrovascular disease, injure and poisoning in male were higher than that in female(P<0.05).the rate of heart disease in female was higher than that in male(P<0.05).in major death causes , mortality rates for malignant tumor and cerebrovascular disease increased from 1991 to 2000 (166.61→188.57/10,0000 for malignant tumor, 136.36→174.27/10,0000 for cerebrovascular disease ), mortality rates for respiratory diseases showed a tendency of downtrend from 1991 to 2000(141.50→126.68/10,0000).
