Part one The Coronary Angiography of Multi-slice Spiral CT Scanning Technique and the Influencing Factors of Image QualityBackground and objective:Coronary heart disease(CHD) is one of the leading causes of death. Noninvasive radiological tools for imaging of the coronary arteries and for early diagnosis of CHD are highly desirable. With the development of multi-slice spiral CT (MSCT), the retrospective electrocardiography(ECG) gating and reconstruction techniques, coronary CT angiography (CTA)with MSCT increasingly has been used for coronary arterial imaging. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the scan technique and to analyze the factors that could influence the image quality of coronary artery angiography with MSCT.Method: 100 Patients (48 male,32 female, range 34 to 72 years old, mean age 61) with coronary disease or suspected coronary disease were studied by a 16-slice spiral CT scanner (retrospectively ECG-gating,0.5s rotation). 36 Patients with a heart rate above 70/min received 50mg β-blockers before the scan. Patients with irregular heart rate, allergy to iodine contrast media, renal or substantial respiratory or cardiac failure were excluded. Volume data set of the heart reconstructed at 5%-95% window of the cardiac cycle in increments of 10% were analyzed in every case with MPR, VRT, CPR and MIP reconstruction images on a 3D imaging workstation. The image quality with...
