Ischemic preconditioning (IP) uses a short period of warm ischemia followed by a short reperfusion phase before a major ischemic insult. It can induce to the internal protection mechanisms and can ameliorate the injury of the organs. This theory has been proven after Murry came up with this new conception first and proved the amelioration to the heart ischemia reperfusion injury (IRI) in 1986. Many scholars made deeper researches in the following decades and found that IP ameliorated not only to the heart ischemia reperfusion injury but also to other organs such as the lung , the muscle , the liver and the kidney. But compared with heart IP the researches in kidney IP are much more backward and most of them are at the period of the animal research and are limited in macroscopic. It is not very much about the researches of whether the ischemic preconditioning can protect kidney graft or not and most researches are under the conditions of short cold ischemia of kidney grafts. It is called severe ischemia reperfusion injury if the cold-stored time of the kidney graft is beyond 40h and the recipient survival rate is very low. So the...
