Objective: Pelvic fracture are often complicated by posterior urethral injury. If handled improperly, severe complications will occur, such as urethral stricture, impotence or other complications. Many scholars reported that there is close relationship between pelvic fracture and urethral injury. At present the injury mechanism of urethral injury is not clear totally. This experiment was carried out to observe the relation about them by CT scanning. Various types of pelvic fractures can cause varying degrees separation of pubic symphysis. The aim is to explore the mechanism and feature of urethral injury, guide clinical treatment and estimate prognosis.Methods: 18 short-term (in a year) embalmed pelves along with their spines intact from L4 to the sacrum, and hip joints with the 1/3 proximal of both femora were obtained from anatomic department of Hebei Medical University. All of these specimens were cleared of belly muscles, organs of pelvic cavity and iliac vessels, preserving urethra carefully and maintaining its connection with pelves.
