Objective:Protein-energy malnutrition(PEM)is a common disease in young children. Evaluating children's nutritional status comprehensively and exactly has drawn great attention of many domestic and foreign fields such as pediatric clinic, health and hygiene. On basis of WHO/NCHS standard, the nutritional status in the group o"fmid-lower mean"would be normality or light malnutrition. There was few articles gave the exactly conclusion. This research used anthropometric and laboratory indices to evaluate this group's nutritional status. Meanwhile, the diagnostic values of the malnutritional indices were analysed and compared. The malnutritional affected factors were also studied. This research offered the reliable bases for early assessing of malnutritional preschool children and for the intervention on these risky factors.Method:Eighty preschool children aged 3 to 6 years were chosen in this study. Refering to WHO/NCHS standard, they were devided into three groups:normality,mid-lower mean and malnutrition according to the difference of weight for height. These children were implemented anthropometric indices such as height, weight, upper arm circumference, skinfold thickness and laboratory indices such as serum prealbumin(PA)and retinol-binding protein(RBP).The data were handled and analysed by t test, analysis of variance, rank correlation and multiple stepwise regression using SPSS12.0 software on computer. The relationships among three groups were analysed comprehensively. Using ROC analysis to estimate the diagnostic values of these sensitive indices. The best cut off points were discovered. The sensitivity and specificity were calculated. Using the questionnaire and simple linear, multiple stepwise regression, the affected factors were studied. Results:All the indices except the height,HAZ and serum total amino acid...
