Objective: To investigate the effects of Taurochenodeoxycholic Acid(TCDCA) on activity and content of Superoxide Dismutase (SOD),Glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),Catalase(CAT) and Maleic Dialdehyde (MDA), In order to probe into the effects of TCDCA on metabolism of oxygen-derived free radicals in rats. Methods: Using xanthine oxidase chemiluminescence method, chemcolorimetric method, ultraviolet spectrotometry, enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and barbital acid method mensurate activity and content of SOD,GSH-Px,CAT,NOS and MDA of plasm and liver and brain in rats. Results: Two different doses TCDCA both can remarkably enhance the activity of SOD of plasm and liver, the activity of CAT of liver and the activity of NOS of plasm in rats, debase the activity of GSH-Px of liver in rats. High dose TCDCA can remarkably enhance the activity of GSH-Px brain in rats, low dose TCDCA can markedly enhance the activity of CAT of plasm in rats. Two doses TCDCA both can remarkably reduce the content of MDA of plasm and liver and brain in rats. Conclusion: TCDCA is provided with antioxidation markedly.
