Objective To provide elaborate anatomical basis for the transposition or transplanting of the vascularized bone flap or skin flap of the ilioinguinal region. Methods The origin, course, branch, ditribution, external diameter and anastomosis of non-trunk vessels in the ilioinguinal region were observed in 31 adult corpses perfused with red latex through artery. At the same time, we measured the position of body surface projection of the vessels original point, and studied the rotation range. Results There is abundant blood supply in the ilioinguinal region. It consists of eight blood vessels. Superficial circumflex iliac artery, the outer diameter of the original point is (1.5±0.3) mm, the distance from the original point to the anterior superior iliac crest is ( 6.0±l.1) cm. Deep circumflex iliac artery, the outer diameter of the original point is (2.7±0.5) mm, the distance from the original point to the anterior superior iliac crest is (4.3±0.7) cm. Ascending branch of lateral circumflex femoral artery, the outer diameter of the original point is (2.5 + 0.4) mm, the distance from the original point to the anterior superior iliac crest is (10.0 + 0.8) cm. Deeply superior branch of superior gluteal artery, the outer diameter of the original point is(2.7±0.6)mm, the distance from the original point to the top of iliac crest is (8.0±0.6) cm. Inferior epigastric artery, the outer diameter of the original point is (2.1 ±0.5) mm, the length of the main stem is (1.4 + 0.5) cm. Superficial epigastric artery, the outer diameter of the original point is (1.2 ±0.4) mm, the length of the main stem is (3.0+ 1.2) cm. Lateral pudendal artery, the outer diameter of the original point is (1.4 ±0.4) mm, the length of the main stem is ( 2.0 ±0.7) cm. Obturator artery, the outer diameter of the anterior cutaneous branch is (0.8 ±0.1) mm, the shortest distance from the point crossing the profound fascia to the lateral edge of the ramus inferior ossis pubis is (0.6 ±0.2) cm. Each vessel has its characteristics, and could complement each other. Conclusion We should consider the different needs to choose the proper bone or skin flap for transposition or transplanting, and make use of their complementation, diameter and rotation range to select the optimum form of operation.
