Objective: To analyze the diagnostic significance of the primary lung cancer in the clinical types and stages by the examination of fibro-bronchoscope and dropped tumorous cells in the sputum, and the comparison between cytology of sputum before and after the examination of fibro-bronchoscope in the diagnostic meaning of the primary lung cancer. Methods: To gain the samples through the following methods, one is forceps biopsy and brushing biopsy in the bronchus under the fibro-bronchoscope, the other is coughing from the bottom of the lung in force after gargling, three times before fibro-bronchoscope and one time after it, to make sure the primary lung cancer by pathology. Result: The distinguish between the central type and peripheral carcinoma of lung by the sputum cytology and fibro-bronchoscope in the clinical types of the primary lung cancer is nothing statistical ( P is 0.251,0.19 respectively ) ; the comparisons among the sputum cytology , fibro-bronchoscope and the both in the clinical stages of the primary lung cancer are nothing statistical ( P is 0.931 ) ; however, the combination of sputum cytology and fibro-bronchoscope has a higher detective ratio in the stage of the lung cancer than sputum cytology and fibro-bronchoscope respectively. The comparison between sputum cytology before and after the fibro-bronchoscope examination in the detection of all kinds ofpulmonary carcinoma about pathological types are nothing in statistics ( P=0.73 ) , and squamous carcinoma is higher than the other pathological types of the lung cancer. Conclusion: Separately take the examination of the fibro-bronchoscope and sputum cytology can not contribute to the detection of lung cancer in early stage, and should be combined.
