Objective: To study the expression and significance of Fos in central nervous system and NOS in gastric mucosa after ethanol-induced acute gastritis in rat. Methods: Animals were randomly classified into 5 groups:gaster-poured by physiological solution(A); gaster-poured by ethanol(B); gaster-poured by ethanol after hypophrenic vagotomy(C); gaster-poured by ethanol after big-small splanchnicotomy(D); gaster-poured by ethanol after hypophrenic vagotomy and big-small splanchni-cotomy(E). LI was studied. The distribution of Fos-positive neuron in central nervous system and NOS-positive cell in gastric mucosa was displayed and immunohistochemical staining method was used. Results: There were a lot of Fos-positive neuron in thalamus ventral-lateral nucleus and No 9 thoracic medullaris posterior horn cinerea in groups B and C; Fos-positive neuron in ambiguous nucleus and nucleus of solitary tract were better in groups B and D, but they were obiviously less than them of halamus ventral-lateral nucleus and No 9 thoracic medullaris posterior horncinerea in groups B and C(P<0.05). LI of groups B and D were higher than them of group A(P<0.05). but them were obiviously much higher than them of groups C and E(P<0.05). There were a lot of NOS I -positive cell in mucosa of gastric body in groups A, B and D. And them were obiviously much more than them of groups C and E(P<0.05)There were a lot of NOS II -positive cell in mucosa of gastric body in groups C and E. And them were obiviously much more than them of groups A, B and D(P<0.05). Conclusion: The gastric algesia impulsion are mainly conducted by sympathetic afferent nerve. And NO protecting mucosa of gastric body are mainly introduced by vagus nerve.
