| Objective: To observe the clinical curative effect by treating viral myocarditis with Yi-Qi-Yang-Ying-Jie-Du-Fang and to detect and to discuss the mechanism of the effect.Methods: 82 cases with viral myocarditis were selected and were divided into two groups at random. 40 cases were treated with Yi-Qi-Yang-Yin-Jie-Du-Fang adding to general Western medicine which served as treatment group, while the rest 42 cases, as control group, were treated with general Western medicine .The clinical symptoms,singals,dynamic electrocardiogram,the function of the left heart and the laboratory indexes were observed and compared.Results: After being treated 4 weeks, the main effective rate of the treatment group was 67.5%,the total effective rate was 95%, while the control group was 50%and 80.95%. There was very significant difference (P<0.01) between the two groups. The improvement in the treatment group on main clinical symptoms ,such as chest stuffiness heart-throb,fatigue ,was better than that in the control group(P<0.05)The method of the treatment group has better effect on improving dynamic electrocardiogram and the function of the left heart.At the same time, there was significant difference (P<0.05) or very significant difference (P<0.01) between the two groups in the laboratory indexes.There was no adverse reaction or side effects revealed in the treatment group.Conclusion: Yi-Qi-Yang-Yin-Jie-Du-Fang adding to Western medicine was obviously prior to Western medicine in treating viral myocarditis.
