Objective:To observe the clinical effect of WuLingXiaoZhi Granules (WLXZG):on hyperlipidemia and explore its therapeutic mechanism.. Methods:80 cases of patiettts with hyperlipidemia were divided randomly into WuLingXiaoZhi Granules(WLXZG) group (40cases) and control group (40cases). The patients in WLXZG group were treated with WLXZG and control group were treated with ZhiBiTuo Tablet respectively. The changes of clinical symptoms and laboratory indexens in all the patients were be observed before and after treatment. 36rats with-hyperlipidemia.. were. divided randomly into WLXZG group (I2 rats),control group (12 rats) and model group (12 rats). The three groups were fed with high fat diet and WLXZG group and control group were given WLXZG and ZhiBiTuo Tablet respectively:Laboratory_indexes in all the rats were determined: Results:showed:After the treatment with WLXZG, the clinical symptams were effectively improved. The serum total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG),the serum low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in the decreased while the serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL.-C) increased. So this formula has marked clinical efficacy and is much better than that of the control group(p<0. 05).At the same time, animal experiment showed that WLXZG had similar effects of lowering lipid levels, resisting lipid peroxidation and regulating secretions of Vaso-active substances. Conclusions:Through clinical and experimental research. We have verified that WLXZG could effectivrly relieve clinical symptoms, reduce blood lipid levels and protect vascular endothelial cells. So it has an important meaning and practical value on treating hyperlipidemin of old age.
