But there are redundancy and errorinformation on different scales, Consequently the specificdatabases that had dealed with the information in basic databaseshaving been built. In order to analyse, to share and to use thosebioinformation effectively, and to obtain the correlated and latestnews directly in time in the world for researchers, we try toestablish a genetic information database for Cancer, which willintegrate data analysis, data query, and data storage. Thisdatabase and its query, management system emphases the informationof tumor genetics and it will impulse the development offoundational investigation and the level of clinical treatmentgreatly.According to analyzing the requirement of this database, wefound that we could achieve this project with the databasemanagement software—Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and the utilityprogram exploitation software—Borland C++Builder. MicrosoftSQL Server 2000 is the latest edition of Microsoft , it has thefunction to decision support and the tight related integration withothers server software, it has the high-capacity of data storage,high-efficiency of data query, it's guidance and tools ofconvenient and it's user interface of friendly ,especially it'sextensibility and dependability, are all it's important insuranceof safe;C++Builder is not only a excellent exploitationsoftware, but also able to think, to analyze, to design and toprogram with the method of object oriented programming because itis base on c++ and it has the feature of powerful levis of c++. Afterthe database and its query, management system completed, user couldcall all function of this system through manipulating the main form.We try to let user manipulate conveniently as far as possible inthe aspect of form design and try to make the system more practically,almost user could complete only by click the mouse or import relateddata.We selected several related authoritative databases such asCGAP ( Cancer Genome Anatomy Project , http ://cgap.nci.nih.gov/),which is the branch of database NCBI, andNational Cancer Institute(http://cancer.gov/ cancerinformation)and Atlas Chromosomes in Cancer ( http : //www.infobiogen.fr/services/chromcancer )from more than 500 bioinformatics databasesthat have published now as the data source for the genetic·7·information database for cancer. Combined with many relatedliterature, we gathered genetic information of 288 kinds of cancer,and classed those kinds of cancer into twelve types according tohuman body system: head and neck cancer, chest and breast cancer;recirculating system cancer;digestive system cancer, centralnervous system cancer;endocrine system cancer;urinary and malereproductive system cancer;female reproductive system cancer;lymphatic and hematopoietic system cancer;soft tissue and bonetumor;cutaneous tumor;pediatric tumor and others concomitanttumor syndrome. The information of each cancer include the name ofcancer, type of system, characteristic of genetics, characteristictreatment,epidemiologic feature, clinical manifestation, pathologand staging, treatment plan aimed directly to different staging,prognosis and factors affected prognosis and so on. Moreover, wecould update and record information of new cancer or latest progressof cancer existed in the database constantly to enrich the contentof this database.The query and management system of this database involved query,record, modification, management of password and outcome forms.Query form is the main form, and we designed four ways to inquest:according to human body system, key words, chromosome andcombinative inquest. In order to make the performance simpler andmore directly, we place the frame of first outcome on this form.Three functional keys "refer", "exit", "clear" had been placedon the record form and execute corresponding function throughprogramming. And three functional keys "modify", "refer","exit" had been placed on the modification form. The textbox onrecord and modification form support the basic manipulate of cut,copy, stick, which make it easy to update.
