Objective Using proteomics technology to detect the different serum protein spectrum of allergic rhinitis , nasal polyposis and healthy controls, and lay a foundation to clarify the pathogenesis and treat for allergic rhinitis and nasal polyposis. Methods The differentially expressed proteins were detected by surface enhanced laser desorption ionization-time of flight-mass spectrometry(SELDI-TOF-MS) technology and WCX2 proteinchip, and primarily analyzed by related software as well as bioinformatic method. Results In the m/z range of 2000-30000Da,138 differentially expressed protein peaks were detected in allergic rhinitis and nasal polyposis patients respectively, among which 17 ones were significantly different(p<0.01) in allergic rhinitis patients, 23 ones were significantly different(p<0.01)in nasal polyposis patients, and 6 protein peaks were significantly different in both groups. Conclusion In our study, the mass spectra of patients with allergic rhinitis and nasal polyposis were initially established. There are obvious differentially expressed proteins in the sera among allergic rhinitis , nasal polyposis and healthy controls, which maybe have close relationship with the genesis and development of allergic rhinitis and nasal polyposis.
