Instructed by science and philosophy, Comparative Studies between Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine (CSTCMWM) focuses on culture, science evolution, history intercommunion, translation and methodology in medicine. It is over-nation, over-subject and over-culture and aims at syncretism between macro holistic medicine and micro positive science. This subject helps us find the different diagnostic idea and treatment in the completely dissimilar culture background and explore the international idea and fact contact among sino-west doctors.In 652 A.D., Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang was composed by Sun Simiao, after 30 years, another works Qian Jin Yi Fang. Sun Simiao put forward the notion of"nature cultivation", i.e. health preserving. Sun sparked plug positive health preserving. According to his own experience in clinic and daily life, he took the health preserving into shape and enriched it. His works exercised a great influence on Traditional Chinese Medicine. Canon of Medicine, composed in early 11th century, played an impotant role in world medical history. This book was regarded as medicine guide with respect. Avicenna (980-1037A.D.), the author, was prasied as"the prince of Arabic Medicine". His Arabic name was Abu Ali Husayn ibn Sina.Canon of Medicine inherited the ancient Greek and Rome medical achievements. Affiliated to Graeco-Islamic Medicine, his theory is based upon the humour doctrine of Hippocrates and Galen. What's more, he also refered to Traditional Chinese Medicine and Indian Medicine. This book is a complete summarization of Arabic Medicine and Traditional Western Medicine. Avicenna boosted the medicine development to a rather higher level.After the unremitting efforts at translation and research, I have an over view on the first book of Canon of Medicine. Such efforts not only fill up the blank of western medicine basic theory and history reaserch, but also offer a grounded and applied framework and a new clue for studying Sino-Western Medicine common knowledge.This paper puts much emphasis on the comparative studies of Yin and Yang, Five Elements, Four humours, dietetic care and sleep care.
