Computer aided design technology is applied in the field of cranioficial plasticsurgery in this dissertation. The objective of this paper is to supply visualized 3Dcranioficial plastic effect for doctors and patients. After doing some researches onhuman faces characteristic, muscles structure, anatomic structure of the cheekbonebased on analyzing and summarizing former work, a geometry model of human facewas presented and elastic mechanics theory was imported to the medical fieldcreatively in this paper.The following creative work has been completed:1. 3D craniofacial reconstruction is completed with taking advantage of CT images,and some property of materials and illuminated effect are added to the model atthe same time in this dissertation.The model can be observed in arbitrarydirection through moving,rotating,and zooming the model.2. A model of elastic deformation is presented here, the plastic effect of face can beforecasted by means of this model..3. The algorithm of correlative distortion from bone to skin is presented in thisdissertation. This algorithm establishs the relationship from bone to skin, as aresult, the software of distortion from bone to skin can be realized with thisalgorithm.4. The visualization of face distortion is realized by means of programminglanguage VC++ and graphics library OpenGL.
