Pyrrole has a very promising future in the field of conducting polymer, via a proper molecule design, some derivatives that have various purposes could be achieved by chemical synthesis. In this thesis, several N-substituted chiral pyrrole derivatives, which are precursors of modified electrodes, have been designed, synthesized and fully characterized by spectroscopic methods; and the synthesis methods had been modified. Two synthetic methods had been adopted in our studies: one is N-substituted chiral pyrrole which has been synthesized in three steps by Paal-Knoor reaction using 2,5-Dimethoxytetrahydrofuran as starting material. The other synthesis pathway for chiral pyrrole monomers 10, 11 and 12 which have the optical active moiety using pyrrole as stating material. In the end, six N-substituted chiral pyrrole derivatives having L-lactic acid, L-alanine, L-methionine moieties have been synthesized. Electrochemical polymerization of the N-substituted pyrrole monomer 3 and 4. The obtained polymer films were characterized by cyclic voltammograms (CV).
