This research developed a Self-concept Questionnaire of CLP Teenagers, aimed at the CLP non-syndrome teenagers aged 12-19 years. 63 cleft patients were selected as the patient-group,operated at the CLP Surgery department of Stomatological Institute of Sichuang University from October 2003 to april 2005.88 middle school students aged 13-19 years were selected as normal-contrast-group.the parents of in-patient in patient-group composed the parent-contrast-group.the split-half reliability.test-retest reliability, content-related validity and criterion-related were analysed,and it was concluded that the questionnaire had good reliability and validity,could be served as a tool for diagnosis and intervention of CLP teenagers in unhealthy psychological conditions.Through the primary analysis of CLP teenagers' self-concept condition,it was concluded that the CLP teengers had normal self-concept in whole and better self-regulation ability than normal teenagers. In objective physiological self-concept classification, CL (CLP) teenagers had psychological regulation on appearance deformity,CP (CLP)teenagers had lower satisfaction in speechthan normal teenagers,and 55% of them thought speech more important than appearance;the projective physiological self-concept-did not be partial to obviously positive or malignant tendency. The cleft teenagers totally had normal objective social self-concept and trended to have more positive objective social self-concept.In social relationship,the feeling of being excluded,self-confidence,cfeft teenagers were poor than normal teenagers,but had better parenthood and higher evaluation of society,such as,feeling many people caring and helping me,the relationship between people were not indifferent. The evaluation of the mental character is higher, having good psychological defensive ability. Cleft teenagers and parents were not different in cleft teenagers' self-concept arent. Sex had not obvious influence on total self-concept.
