The effects of 60Co gamma irradiation at different dosage on Aspergillus flavus spores, Aspergillus ochraceus spores and Fusarium momiliiforme spores in both wheat or corn and physiologic saline solution, and cysticerci in pork were studied. The results showed that (1) 60Co Gamma-irradiation has significantly lethal effect on these three fungal spores and cysticerci. (2)The irradiation D10 values of fungal spores in physiologic saline solution were lower than that in cereals. (3) High concentration of fungal spores has a lower D10 value in the same medium than the low concentration. (4)An increase in radioresistance is in the following order: Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus ochraceus and Fusarium momiliiforme. (5)The D10 values of Aspergillus flavus spores in physiologic saline solution and in corns ranged from 0.39kGy to 0.47kGy and 0.67kGy to 0.72kGy, respectively. The dose required for complete inhibition of Aspergillus flavus spores in physiologic saline solution and in corns ranged from 1.5kGy to 2.5kGy and 2kGy to 3kGy, respectively. The D10 values of Aspergillus ochraceus spores in physiologic saline solution and in corns ranged from 0.46kGy to 0.51kGy and 0.60kGy to 0.66kGy, respectively. The dose required for complete inhibition of Aspergillus ochraceus spores in physiologic saline solution and in corns ranged from 1.5kGy to 3.0kGy and 2.0kGy to 3.0kGy, respectively. Thevalues of Fusarium momiliiforme spores in physiologic saline solution and in corns ranged from 0.57kGy to 0.60kGy and 0.66kGy to 0.81kGy, respectively. The dose required for complete inhibition of Aspergillus ochraceus spores in physiologic saline solution and in corns ranged from 3.0kGy to 4.0kGy and 3.0kGy to 4.0kGy, respectively. The dose required for killing cysticerci in pork was 4.5kGy. According to the results of our study, it is concluded that the suggested dose required for killing Aspergillus flavus spores, Aspergillus ochraceus spores and Fusarium momiliiforme spores under natural conditions ranged from 3.0kGy to 4.0kGy and 4.5kGy for cysticerci.
