Objective In order to investigate the relationship between NF-kB and Salmonella typhimurium infection in different immune conditions and to understand further more about the mechanism of inflammation induced by Salmonella typhimurium in the early infection period. The results could be used as the evidence to understand generally of the pathogenesis of the Salmonella typhimurium and the reason for our clinical therapy. Methods We sorted forty-two mice in 3 groups, respectively a dysbacteriosis group (established by taken streptomycin orally) , an inhibited immunity group (established by celiac injected with cortisone) and a normal group. We used the immunohistochemical ABC method to detect the expression of NF-κB at 2, 6, 12, 24, 48, 72 hours after infected by Salmonella typhimurium, and we deal the data statistically withunivariant analysis of variance and Student-Newman-Keuls multiplerange test. Results:(1) it is obviously that the number of NF-kB positive cell increased in the infected mice by Salmonella typhimuriurn while no NF-kB positive cell in the control. It indicated that NF-kB turns into activation after Salmonella typhimurium infection.(2). There is difference among the three intervene groups(F= 13.915, P <0.01) .The expression of NF-kB is the highest in dysbacteriosis group and the lowest in the inhibited immunity one. (mean difference =5.3422, P<0.01)(3). The time "peaks of the expression are at 2 and 24 hours while it descend after 48 hours. Conclusion NF-kB turn activation after Salmonella typhimurium infection .The active extent is associate with the immune condition of the host. The immune inhibitor can downregulate the activation of the NF-kB while intestine dysbacteriosis can upregulate it. The time peaks of the expression are at 2 and 24 hours then it descend after 48 hours.
