A Study On The Mechanism And Therapeutic Effects Of Ping Gan An Chang Decoction On Treating Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Objective: the goal of this clinical experiment is to probe the mechanism and therapeutic effects of Ping Gan An Chang decoction on treating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).Methods: 70 patients with IBS of liver stagnation with spleen deficiency were divided into 2 groups at random. The observed group included 40 cases and the control group 30 cases. On the base the observed group took Ping Gan An Chang decoction, the control group took Pina Verium Bromide and Smecta. The course of treatment is 1 month. Before and after the treatment, we recorded the change of patient's clinical symptoms and nervous and neuropathy functions. In the end we concluded the curative effects.Results: (1)Compared with the control group, the observed group was better in the curative effects and syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine (P<0.05). (2)The observed group was piror to the control group in improving the patients' clinical symptoms and nervous and neuropathy functions, decreasing the clinical symptom score (P<0.01 or P<0.05). (3)The both groups did not have bad influence on blood, urine, dejecta, liver and kidney function.Conclusion: Ping Gan An Chang decoction improved clinical symptoms and patients' nervous and neuropathy functions. Its therapy had remarkable effects on IBS.
