The expression of FHIT gene in precancerous lesions and primary lung cancerObjective To investigate the expression of FHIT gene in precancerous lesions and primary lung cancer and analyze the role of FHIT gene in lung tumorigenesis.Methods FHIT protein expression was detected in 298 cases of formal-fixed Paraffin-embaded human samples as controlled by immunohistochemistr-y , including 51 precancerous lesions ,161 lung cancer samples , 53 normallung tissue samples and benign pulmonary lesion tissues, 33 metastasis lymph nodesResults The negative rate of FHIT expression in metastasis lymph nodes was 78.8% which was significantly higher than that in tissues of lung cancer 59.1%(P<0.01)and precancerous lesions 54. 9%(P<0.01). Negative rates in metastasis lymph nodes, tissues of lung cancer and precancerous lesions were significantly higher than that in normal tissues and benign lung tumor tissues (P<0.01). The expression of FHIT gene was closely associated with histological classification of cancer, cell differentiation, P-TNM stages and lymph node metastasis in lung cancer patients (P<0.05), but it was not related to gender and...
