Pulmonary cancer is one of the most enigmatic disease affecting men and women. It is the most frequently seen cancer of lung. Dispite being one of the most frequently encountered lung cancer, the pathophysiology of pulmonary cancer remains controversial. Some Theories have been propose to explain the pathogenesis of pulmonary cancer: smoking, atmosphere pollution, professional desease, physics and chemistry factors, virus infection, funguses toxin, vitamine A deficiency, endocrinopathy ,immune dysfunction, et al. No single theory, however, can account for all cases of pulmonary cancer. Pulmonary cancer consist of SCLC and NSCLC according to pathology. IGF axis contain Insulin-like growth factors and its receptor, binding protein and IGF-binding protein enzyme.
