Objective:To observe the clinical effect of pedicle screw internal fixation in treating thoracolumbar fractures and explore its safety and credibility. Method:31 cases of thoracolumbar fractures were treated with pedicle screw internal fixation. With correct analysis and grasp of patients' pedicle characteristics before operation, right orientation to pedicle and fully decompression and bone grafting on operation, systemic and all-around correct function exercise after operation, observe the complications on and after operation , the recorrection of vertebrae height and Cobb angle and vertebrae stricture , the comeback of nerve function. Evaluate the curative effect with self-made criterion. Result:The patients were followed-up for 6-24 months, 13 months averagely. No patient has complications on and after operation. The curative effect of more than 80 % patients is excellent and more than 90 % patients is fine. Conclusion: Pedicle screw internal fixation is a safe, reliable and effective alternative in treating thoracolumbar fractures.
