The gluing object of tissue adhesive is the living creature organizes,proceeding in liquid or bloods, no poisonous, having security and good to the human body adaptability, tissue adhesive glue something at once,operating convenience, combining creature organizing firmly, no hindrance of living creature repair. Maybe it is a kind of disinfection the material. Cyanoacrylate adhesive and fibrin sealant are the most commonly used tissue adhesive at present.Both of all are soft tissue adhesive,being fit for gluing skin, viscera, nerve, muscle, blood vessel, mucosae.having good biotic compatibility and hemostasia function, completely degradation and metabolism. It was widely applied in liver spleen surgery, heart blood vessel surgery, neurosurgery but seldom applied in ophthalmology. There are a few reports of tissue adhesive application in ophthalmology.No article was reported on biotic compatibility of tissue adhesive application on the ocular surface until now. Our experiment is to study the biotic compatibility of tissue adhesive application on the ocular surface. This experiment investigated the feasibility of sutureless amniotic membrane transplantation and sutureless lamellar keratoplasty by tissue adhesive and evaluated the efficacy of treatment for corneal ulcer with tissue adhesive. This study provided experiment foundation for tissue adhesive to apply in ophthalmology and provided new idea of progress in ophthalmology operation and new operation carried out. Partâ… : The experimental study on tissue adhesive applied on ocular surface to cause ocular organise reaction Objective To study cyanocarylate adhesive (CA) and fibrin sealant (FS) applied on ocular surface whether cause ocular organise stimulation, toxicity, histopathology changes. Methods Forty eight New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into CA group, FS group, alkali burn group and normal group. Alkali burn group was used as masculine control group, normal group was used as feminine control group. Then each group was again divided into two small groups (scraped corneal epithelium asâ… group and without scraped corneal epithelium as â…¡group), Both eyes of each rabbit are experiment eyes.To smear CA on corneal and bulbar conjunctiva surface in CA group, To smear FS on corneal and bulbar conjunctiva surface in FS group, To infiltrated a 22mm diameter round filter paper with 0.5mol/L sodium hydroxide liquor and cover corneal and bulbar conjunctiva surface of masculine control group at 20 seconds,without treatment to feminine control group. Stimulation of corneas were observed by Slit Lamp Microscope after surgery everyday. On the 1st day and 7th day after surgery, all rabbits were checked protein of aqueous humor, corneal, lens epithelia and retina were observed by light microscope and transmission electron microscope,apoptosis of lens epithelia and retina were studied by TUNEL method. Results: On the 1st day and 7th day after surgery, protein level of aqueous humor were not significant difference (P > 0.05) among CA group , FS group and feminine control group. There are significant difference(P < 0.0001) among CA group , FS group and masculine control group.Microstructure and ultrastructure of corneal,lens anterior capsular epitheliaand retina were normal in CA group and FS group,lens anterior capsularepithelia and retina were not apoptosis by TUNEL method in CA groupand FS group. Masculine control group were abnormality,Lens anteriorcapsular epithelium and retinal ganglion celIs were apoptosis in masculinecontrol group. Conclusion Cyanocarylate adhesive and fibrin sealant applied on ocular surface can not cause ocular organise stimulation, toxicity, histopathology changes.
