The Effect Of Alkaline Ionized Water Enhancing Heat Endurance And Its Probable Mechanism

1 OBJECTSAlkaline ionized water(AKW) is a new kind of functional drinking water .Our purpose is to study if AKW is capable to improve heat endurance and to discuss its probable mechanisms, so to provide the basis for discovering the drinks which can elevate heat endurance of armies in thermal areas.2 METHODSThe preparation of Alkaline ionized water (AKW) and the analysis of AKWs physical and chemical qualities.Heat endurance of heat-exposed mice and rats were observed by the swimming test and the hyperthermal lethal test .To study effect of alkaline ionized water(AKW) on antioxidase activity of heat exposed mice and rats; effect of alkaline ionized water (AKW) on the blood system of heat-exposed rats and effect of AKW on the supply of oxygen in heat-exposed rats brain constitution . 3 ConclusionAlkaline ionized water can enhance mouse and rats thermotolerant capability. Some of the possible mechanisms included :enhanced the antioxidative function against the damage of free radicals, ameliorated the state of higher viscosity of blood and the serum level of mineral elements, ameliorated the condition of oxygen supply in brain, therefore relieved damage caused by heat exposure.
