ObjectiverTo develop a new method to restore maxillary edentulous jaw with front fixed bridge supported by implants and back attachment denture and choose a more reasonable design by comparing stresses of two kinds of attenchments(rigid and resilient) and different implant number and place. Methods:The three dimensional finite element models of two kinds of attenchments and three kinds of different implant number and place are constructed by means of CT scanning, digital image transfer and computer softwares, and stresses are compared. Results Three dimensional finite element models have been constructed successfully. There are large differences in front implants and osseous integration surface of implants. The stresses of extracoronal resilient attachment model are less than of extracoronal rigid attachment model. With the change of implant number and implant place, the stresses of model when four implants being in lateral incisors and caninesis is the lest than other models. Conclusion The method to reconstruct three dimensional finite element model is feasible.Using extracoronal resilient attachment and implanting four implants in lateral incisors and caninesis, the stresses are most reasonable.
