| Objective:To explore the clinical value of the expression of c-kit receptor in patientswith acute leukemia(AL) or lymphoma. Methods:Immunohistochemistry was performed by using standard SP method on 33bone marrow samples of AL and 34 biopsy of lymph node in lymphoma. normal bonemarrow and reactive lymph nodes were used as the control. Results: 12 of 22(54.6%) AML patients were c-kit -positive with a striking differencein contrast to the control and ALL group. Difference among the FAB subtypes werealso observed. The expression rate of c-kit receptor in HD group were significantlyhigher than that of control and NHL group. The intensity of c-kit receptor in AMLwas associated with the level of LDH and remission rate. Conclusions: C-kit receptor can be used as a specific marker for the diagnosis of AMLand might have some value in the classification of AML subtypes. It also contributesto the diagnosis of HD. |
