OBJECTIVES:The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of thymosinpeptide alpha 1 used perioperation on T lymphocyte subsets of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and to provide the theoretical basis to the clinical application of thymosin peptide alpha 1. METHODS:Forty-five patients were divided into two groups. Treatment group (23 cases) and control group (22 cases) respectively. The patients of treatment group were injected with thymosin peptide alpha 1 subcutaneous at the dose of 1.6 mg applied on the day, 3rd, 5th day after operation. The change of CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD4+/CD8+, ALT, ALB, TBIL, WBC, T of two groups were observed before operation and 1st,4th,7th days after operation(single factor analysis of variance within group, independent sample t test between groups). And CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD4+/CD8+ of 10 normal people were tested, then compared CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD4+/CD8+(single factor analysis of variance) of these people and two groups , and compared the rates of infectivecomplications after operation of two groups(chi test). RESULTS:1 .The CD3\ CD4"\ CD4+/CD8+ of two groups was less than normal people, CD8+ was more than normal people(P<0.05). 2.Compare within group; it revealed that CD3+> CD4\ CD4+/CD8+ of control group decreased after operation(CD4\ CD4+/CD8+before operation compared with 1st, 4th, 7th days after operation, P<0.05), CD8+ increased (1st, 4l\ 7th days after operation compared with before operation P<0.05) , especially on the 4th day; AL^ TBIL, WBC. T increased(1st, 4*\ 7th days after operation compared with before operation P<0.05), ALB decreased (1S\ 4th, 7thdays after operation compared with before operation P<0.05) There was no statistical difference of CD3\ CD4+, CD4+/CD8+ of treatment group before and after operation; CD3\ CD4+/CD8+on 1st, 7th days after operation was statistical different (P<0.05) ; ALT( 1st,4th ^7thdays after operation compared with before operation P<0.05)^ TB^ WBC, T increased (1S\ 4th days after operation compared with before operation P<0.05), ALB decreased (1st> 44t\ 7th days after operation compared with before operation P<0.05) . 3.Compared between groups, CD4+, CD4+/CD8+ of treatment group were more than that of control group (1st, 4th, 7th days after operation P<0.05) , CD8+ of treatment group was less than that of control group (1st, 4l\ 7th days after operation P<0.05); CD3+ of treatment group was more than that of control group (4ll\ 7th days after operation P<0.05), ALT^T of treatment group was less than that of control group(4ll\ 7th days after operation P<0.05) . 4.There was no statistical difference of the rates of infection complications after operation between two groups (P>0.05) . CONCLUSIONS:These results suggest that operation inhibits immune function of T lymphocyte in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, thymosin peptide alpha 1 can increase immune function of T lymphocyte.
