The Significance Of VEGF And PCNA Expression In Pituitary Adenomas

[Background] : Pituitary Adenomas is the familiar intercraanial tumor(abort 10%). although most of de Pituitary Adenomas are benign, some of which have malignant potensial, such as invasive growth ,destroy the bone ,invade the dura nerve and blood vessel around, the invasivation of Adenomas is one of the most important recurrent renson .the forms of normal and adenomal cell are difficult to recognize using normal histological-pathological method, so wu use immunohistochemical method . Studying the expression of VEGF and PCNA in pituitary adenomas is significant andcan offer a new way for prevention and treatment of pituitaryadenomas.[Objective] :By examining the expression of VEGF and PCNA in normal hypophysias as well as pituitary adenomas, to investigatethe relationship between , as well as to investigate the effects of VEGF expression on vascular endothelial growth factor and angiogenesis in pituitary adenomas.[Methods] :The protein expression of VEGF and PCNA was examined by streptavidin peroxidase immunohistochemical staining, we examined 60 invasive pituitary adenomas and 60 non-invasive patienses,counting cells and observe the immunohistochemical marks.[Results] :1. pcna of most of the 120 pituitary adenomas are positive. 41.7%(25 of 60) invasive pituitary adenomas are positive, 16. 7(10 of 60) non-invasive pituitary adenomas are positive. All 7 normal hypophysias are negative. PCNA have no relationship with the age, sex and size of the tumor,but relate with the invasivation of the pituitary adenomas2. VEGF of most of the 120 pituitary adenomas are positive.46.7%(56 of 120) pituitary adenomas are strong positive, 51. 6%(62 of 120) are weak positive 1.7%(2 of 120)are negative. VEGF have no relationship with the age,sex and size of the tumor, but relate with the invasivation of the pituitary adenomas3. Expression of The VEGF and PCNA in pituitary adenomas have the obvious relativity[Conclusion] : The expression of VEGF in the invasive pituitary adenomas is high in limitation type, explain that the VEGFparticipates the pituitary adenomas to encroach upon the growth process;The expression of PCNA in the pituitary adenomas building up explain that it participated the occurrence development process of the pituitary adenomas. It is high in the expression of the invasive pituitary adenomas than limitation type show that PCNA may participate the pituitary adenomas to encroach upon the growth. Expression of The VEGF and PCNA in pituitary adenomas have the obvious relativity, express that both distinguish each from rise the function at the same time, be in conjunction with the function still mutually, thus and together promote the occurrence of the pituitary adenomas and its growth, and promote tumor relapse. Pass to experiment we think the VEGF, the excrescent expression of the PCNA protein has something to do with the occurrence of the pituitary adenomas and its biology behavior change, and can be the tumor invasivation and biology index sign for estimatation.
