Objective: Examining peripheral arteries with ultrasound and describing the extent of atherosclerosis with IMT and plaque, to investigate the correlation of peripheral arteries atherosclerosis and coronary artery atherosclerosis, evaluate the predicting value of peripheral arteries with ultrasound to coronary artery atherosclerosis and clinical value. Methods: A hundred and ten patients were examined by ultrasound after coronary angiography 1-2 weeks, to observe the intima-media thickness and plaque condition of common carotid artery, internal carotid artery, external carotid artery, carotid bifurcation, common femoral artery, superficial femoral artery, deep femoral artery, poplitel artery, dorsalis pedis artery, whose basic conditions were recorded, to measure and record IMT, thickness of the atherosclerotic plaque, and stenosis extent of different arteries. According to coronary angiography, all patients were classified into four groups: the group with normal coronary arteries, 1-vessel disease group, 2-vessel disease group, and the group with more atherosclerotic coronary arteries. Contrast the atherosclerotic pathology of four groups, and do t-test, chi-square test, rank sum test, analysis of variance, logistic regression, et al, to study the risk factors of atherosclerosis, the correlation of peripheral artery atherosclerosis and coronary artery atherosclerosis. Results:1. Statistical significances of CCAIMT, carotid artery IMT, CFAIMT, SFAIMT, DFAIMT, lower limbs arteries IMT were inferred at p<0.05 between the group with normal coronary arteries and anyone of the left three groups, and the IMT of the group with normal coronary arteries is less than other groups. There is positive correlation between coronary artery atherosclerosis and peripheral arteryatherosclerosis. With increasing IMT of carotid arteries and femoral arteries, coronary artery atherosclerosis took place too.2.With the number of atherosclerotic coronary arteries increasing, the atherosclerotic plaques of carotid arteries and femoral arteries became more serious.3.The predicting value of IMT and plaque of carotid arteries and femoral arteries to coronary artery atherosclerosis (accuracy): MP|Oweriimbs77.1%>P|Owerlimbs76.9% >BIFIMT73.4%>Pcarotid72.7%>CFAIMT69.7%, they are considered as one of the way to predict the extent of coronary artery atherosclerosis. 4.With multiple logistic regression(STEPWISE), statistical significances of CFAIMT> Pcarotid were inferred at/?<0.05. They are considered as one of the way to predict the extent of coronary artery atherosclerosis.5.In all the patients, the percent of patients with classable score 3 is the most. In the group with more atherosclerotic coronary arteries, the proportion of patients with classable score 3 is the most. Most patients' stenosis of carotid arteries and femoral arteries was less than 50%, because of atherosclerosis. 6.A11 the patients in this study, atherosclerosis occurs generally. Atherosclerotic plaques occur in many persons, and the occurrence of atherosclerotic plaques on carotid arteries is more general than on femoral arteries.7.The patients with history of brain infarction all have the occurrence of atherosclerotic plaques on carotid arteries. Atherosclerotic plaques on carotid arteries are related with brain infarction.8. Age, smoking time, hypertension, time of hypertension, triglycerides, free blood sugar, and insulin levels are the risk factors of atherosclerosis. Conclusion:1. Atherosclerotic trends of carotid arteries, femoral arteries, coronary arteries are same. With the number of atherosclerotic coronary arteries increasing, the rates of...
