Study On The Relationship Between Diabetes And Periodontitis

Objective To update the knowledge on periodontitis incidence of among diabetes in patients in Tianjin, find out correlation factors between diabetes and periodontitis, and propose relevant measures of prevention and treatment. Methods 945 cadres attended the annual examination were selected. All selected samples were given periodontal examinations, noting down individual periodontal status; according to the diagnostic criteria of periodontal disease index (PDI) and attachmented losing (AL) , to calculate the periodontitis incidence among them , processing and analyzing the data statistically. And record their general condition at the same time. Results The periodontitis incidence among diabetic patients (n=177) was 51.41% , there existed a significant difference between the two groups (X~2=7.363, P = 0.007).
