Purpose: This subject applies vertical bone splitting technique to widen the alveolar ridge due to the horizontal lack of width. In order to get enough bone width to fulfill the purpose of clinic implantation, furthermore to avoid the bone loss and implant exposure according to the traditional skill using in the alveolar ridge. Enhance the implant primary stability and retaining force even more to the implant successful rate. Methods: Apply torque-control dental implant machine ,Frialit-2 implant system (Friadent ,German) bone split ,bone scraper, turbine device(W&H, German), Gierrbach articulator (German), Bio-oss and Bio-guid .Exposure the implant bone area ,use bone micro saw to sign the direction of the implantation along the crystal bone of the jaw bone(same to the submandibulary and maxillary). Then split the crystal bone in 7mm depth ,use the implant drills or bone-condenser to get the final location and put the implant in situ. Normally harvest the bone mud with bone scraper along the same direction near the root field, sometimes commixed with Bio-oss to get enough bone to fulfill the cranny around the implant. Results: 1, After more than 24 months observation with 37 clinical cases, totally 89 implants ,the successful rate of vertical bone splitting technique get a successful rate in 98.9%.2, The width of the alveolar ridge between the normal implantology and after-bone-splitting implantology is, in upper jaw,5.91mm and 5.81mm;in lower jaw,5.12mm and 5.45mm.3, The clinical date shows average alveolar ridge width finally get 5.7mm after using the vertical bone splitting technique comparing with the pre-operation 2.9mm. The average alveolar ridge width finally get 2.8mm wider.4, Under the radiology observation after final prosthesis in the 6 and the...
