With the rapid development of modern material science, life science and medical science, different kinds of biomaterials have been widely used in clinical fields. Functional composite material has recently become a hot topic in materials design. Of which, the most researches of the bone implants focused on titanium (Ti ) /hydroxyapatite(HA) composite materials. On the one hand, the bone implants must be bioactive and biocompatible; on the other hand, it is necessary to have good mechanical and chemical property. Therefore, Ti/HA composite materials not only have good mechanical property of Ti metal, but also have good biocompatibility and bioactivity of HA. Currently, most commercially available HA coatings are applied onto implants by means of plasma spraying, but these coatings usually have bad bioactivity. And now, the develop trend of the artificial bone implants have already changed to make a nano-HA coating which have an orderly molecule structure. composite materials. The material may be have the best Bio-property than the other traditional ones. It may be even have the ability to conduct and induce the bone tissue.A nano-HA coating which have an orderly molecule structure was fabricated on Ti implants by a self-assembled technique and biomimetic method in this paper. The Ti plates were firstly oxidized in a mixture of H2SO4/H2O2. Contact angles of water and tricresyl phosphate on the surfaces were measured...
