Methods: Fasting serum lipids, glucose and insulin and CRP were measured and insulin sensitivity index(ISI)was caculated in 30 healehy subjects and 70 patients with ms before and ofter 4 weeks of simvastatin treatment (10mg/d). Serum glucose and insulin were measured during oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) in patient group. The areas under theglucose tolerance curve and insulin releasing curve were also caculated. Results: â‘ After simvastatin treatment, serum TC, TG LDL-c were lower and HDL-C were higher than these before.â‘¡CRP in patients with MS was obviously higher than in normal subjects. After treatment, CRP in patients with MS decreased by 30%. â‘¢ISI in patients with MS was obviously lower than in normal subjebs(p<0.05) After simvastatin administration, insulin, insulin/glucose (I/G) ratio and the areas under the curve for insulin and I/G during OGTT...
