Objective: To elucidate the neuropsychological characters and risk factors in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and provide the theoretical evidence for diagnosis and treatment of ADHD.Methods: The neuropsychological characters of 95 children with ADHD,40 normal children and . their parents were investigated with self-made inventory questionnaire,Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Chinese Version,Ravin's Standard Progressive Matrices, Achenbach Child Behavior Checklist(CBCL), Eysenck Personality Questionare-for Children(EPQ), Piers-Harris Children's Self-concept Scale( PHCSS), Sensory Integration Scale,Family Enviroment Scale — Chinese Version(FES-CV) and Symptom Checklist.Rcsults:(l)The scores of information,similarity,arithmetic,vocabulary,object assembly,VIQ and FIQ in children with ADHD were lower than those in normal children (P<0.05 ).The balance between VIQ and PIQ was different between children with ADHD and normal children.In attention test their scores were lower and their false rate was higher than those in normal children.There was no difference between two groups in Ravin's Standard Progressive Matrices.(2)The occurrence rate of behavior problems in children with ADHD was higher than that in normal children.Strain behavior,attack and restless behavior were more common in males with ADHD than those in normal ones.Restless behavior was more common in females with ADHD,their scores in depression,cruelty,social withdraw,,restless behavior and attack were higher compared with normal ones.(3)In personality test,children with ADHD had higher scores in E and P dimentions.(4)Children with ADHD had poorer sensory integrative function than normal children.Males with ADHD were poorer in visual-spaeial function and gravity function than females with ADHD. (5) Children with ADHD had decreased self-concept and they lived in worse family environment. The cohesion,intellectual-cultural orientation,active-recreational orientation.orgnization and control scores were lower,while conflict score was higher in family where children with ADHD lived.(6)Parents of children with ADHD were in poorer psychological status.Mothers of children with ADHD...
