Objective: use 3rd jejunal artery as supplying vessel to comprehend the interrelationship between this artery and the effective artery arch from 1st -2nd and 4th-5th jejunal artery, to get the length of the effective artery arch from the 3rd jejunal artery and the resection length of jejunum supplied by this artery, providing clinical anatomical basis. Methods:1. anatomize 32 formalin fixed and 21 fresh cadavers to measure the diameters of the 1st -5th jejunal artery, the diameter of the effective artery arch, the length of the effective artery arch and make statistical comparison..2. respectively prime the 3rd straight jejunal artery from the fresh cadavers with red acetic ether and ABS vascular cast agent to get the jejunal length supplied by the 3rd effective jejunal artery arch, and the jejunal length that can be resected.Results:1. variations of vessel calibers in both groups are within acceptable range. The assessment is of universal significance2. of the 1st -5th jejunal arteries, the 3rd branch is the greatest in diameter. It can provide sufficient hemodynamic to jejunum.3. the vessel communication of the intestinal wall in the area supplied by the 3rd straight branch is rich. The mesenteric straight branch is wide. The collaterals between straight branches are numerous. The blood circulation is good.4. the evenly acetic ether stained intestine can reach to 142.2+13.6cm, meeting the blood supply of the esophagus substitute.5. the average effective ABS distributing length of the 3rd artery arch is 30.8+1.6cm. It can provide enough length of effective artery and jejunum. Conclusion:Free jejunal graft supplied by the 3rd jejunal artery provides both sufficient effectiveartery arch and enough length of jejunum. It can meet the need in clinical esophagealreconstruction.
